2 months and so fun

Colton is now 2 months old and we can hardly believe it. We love watching him grow and change each day. He is smiling up a storm and it makes me so happy to see that smile!! On friday, in the lovely snow storm, he had to go to the doctor to get his 2 month check up and his shots. He did so well, he only cried while they were giving the shots. I have never seen him turn so red, but when they were done and I picked him up he stopped crying and that was it. He did have a rough evening but I think it was more due to his colic than the shots. He is getting so big. He now ways 12 lbs 3 oz (65%) and is 23 inches (52%) and while he doesn't have a daddy sized head it is 15.9 inches (62%).

Almost smiling. Every time I pull out the camera he stops smiling!

Here he is chillin in daddy's arms.

I just love the expression on his face!

Fun With Digital Scrapbooking

So, I am not one of the most creative people, especially when given paper, scissors, glue, pictures, and maybe some stickers. But, my sister-in-law Alisha introduced me to digital scrapbooking. It is addicting!! Here are a few pages I have created of our beautiful baby.

November has come and gone

It has been a while since my last post so I have some catching up to do. Colton is one month! It's hard to believe how fast time flies and how much he has changed since he was born. Some of the funny things he does is, he won't sleep anywhere but his swing unless it is in a dark room. It is great at night because I feed him, change him and then lay him down and he goes to sleep, but try that during the day, no way! He likes to stick his tongue out and when he gets excited he breathes really fast and throws his arms out. He is getting really good at holding his head up and he likes to watch people walk around if he is in his bouncer. We just love watching him grow!

He Loves to sleep in his swing wrapped up super tight!

Today was his baby blessing. He was blessed by his dad at our ward house surrounded by lots of family. His grandmas and great grandmas sure love him!

We have had some exciting things happen around the house too! We are almost done with the kitchen face lift. It looks 100 times better than it did before. Unfortunately I don't think I have any before pictures but here is an after pictures. You can see we still have a little work to do but it is coming along!

On Wednesday, the day before Thanksgiving, our main water line broke! It is really hard to be in a house that has no water!! Luckily we have an awesome ward and a neighbor who has a backhoe that came and dug up the front yard for us and helped us replace the line. We had water back on the same day! We couldn't have done it within his help!! He are some of the pictures of the massive hole in the front yard.

Here are some super cute pictures my sister-in-law Jenny, Susie Q Portraits, took of our little Tiger! We decided to stay in on Halloween since it started to rain and he is still so little so we don't have any other photos.

One Week

I can't believe that my baby boy is already a week old. He has been a joy to bring home. The two dogs, Mya and Sobe, seem to be slowly adjusting to the fact that they are no longer on the top of our priority list. Colton sleeps well and seems to have his days and nights right. He does wake up about 2 or 3 times at night depending on when we actually go to bed. Of course the last wake up is around 5:30 AM so I usually don't go back to sleep after that and some times neither does he. Bath time is a little hard but I think he will adjust to them quickly. I love being a mom and we are enjoying our experience at parenthood!

Induced!

Well, I had my last NST test today and my fluids are still low so they are going to go ahead and induce me tomorrow. That is, unless something happens tonight. My doctor is out of town just for tonight so if I have the same luck as my mom I will go into labor at 6:15 PM, but oh well at least it will be over! Wish me luck!

Still Pregnant...(sigh)

Well, I'm still pregnant and here is the proof!
Man do I look tired or what??
I would really like to get this over with and to finally meet my baby boy! My NST test today showed that my fluids are still low but my blood pressure is good and so is the baby so they sent me home. On our way out we saw 2 couples carrying their hospital bags in and I have to say I was very jealous!! Tomorrow I will have another doctors appointment and then another NST test on friday.

Found the snake owner....

Well, Will was concerned about letting the snake go in the hills above our house and called one of our neighbors who knows a lot about snakes. It just so happens that it was a snake he caught while he was working and his kids left the lid off the cage he had it in, so it ended up in my yard, which after all the fuss I guess was a good thing. It is not a native snake to our area and would not survive our winters. Our neighbor is planning a trip to somewhere warmer (California, I think( and will take him there. So goodbye snake, it was fun..... The NST test I had on Thursday went well. The baby had no trouble passing but my amniotic fluid was low so I really have to decrease my activity. So I am really BORED!!!!! I did try some crocheting today but got a little frustated and gave up, for today at least. Maybe tomorrow I will do more.

Wahoo! Single digits...

Well, we have made it to single digits as far as the count down goes. Today, however, it may be less than 8 days. I had another check up and found out that I have high blood pressure and have to go on bed rest, but that means my maternity leave officially starts today. Too bad I still had things left to do at work, I guess they will have to wait for 3 months..... I will have to go to the hospital tomorrow for a nonstress test (NST) to see how things are coming along but will keep everyone posted. For some other exciting news, yesterday I found a 4 foot Rat Snake in my back yard.... I thought it was a rattle snake or python or something really bad because it hissed really loud, I have not been that scared in a long time because my dogs were outside with it. Here is a picture of the culprit, notice the happy look on Will's face, he was way too excited to come home and catch it when I called him in a panic.

Baby Showers and Baby Update

I have now had 2 baby showers. My work (boss Linda and Valerie) threw me a baby shower a few weekends ago and they were so great! My mom and sister's and sister-in-laws threw me one last saturday. I have to say I am very blessed with what everyone has given me and a big thanks to everyone for everything (yes, I will still do thank you cards, mom). Here are some pictures of all the wonderful things the baby and I received. My doctor and his office nurse thinks the baby and I are just model patients. At the last visit I measured at 34 weeks instead of 35 weeks, but that just means that he has dropped...yes!! Things are moving in the right direction and I can breath again...at least a little better anyway! Will and I started taking a baby class and I decided that ingnorance is bliss.... Although I have a medical degree I did not know or understand everything/anything that went into delivering a baby.... Scary, intimidating, but exciting at the same time, at least we can be perpared. The best part about the classes though is they teach your coach how to give you massages....great stuff!

A few more pictures of Jackson Hole

Jackson Hole

Will and I had our last vacation before our little one comes in October. We spent the weekend in Jackson Hole Wyoming. It was beautiful up there, the Tetons mountains are aweseome, and the weather was great. We saw the town, pretty small but packed full of shops and places to eat. We shopped some, played mini golf and I even road the Alpine slide with my doctors approval. Our room was great! It was so nice to be able to relax so much I really didn't want to come back to work!! Here are a few pictures of the fun we had! And a few pictures of my growong belly. For my baby update there is nothing exciting to report.... which is a good thing!! He is growing right on schedule and has a great heart beat!! My next appointment is next week, they are now 2 weeks apart which means it is getting closer!!

Sweet Progress....

Yesterday was a very busy day. Alisha, our sister-in-law, will be moving in with us in November to help us out with the baby while Scott, her husband, serves in Iraq. In preperation for her coming we are working very hard to get the basement bathroom finished as well as the fourth and final bedroom completed. Will, Josh and April framed the bedroom and ran new electrical while James and I grouted the bathroom. We were almost done with the grout but found out we didn't buy enough and will have to finish on monday, but once that is complete we can install the fixtures in the showers, the toilet and the sink and yes it will finally be done!!! We started this project almost a year ago. I also worked some on our food storage at the local cannery. It's small but I am very proud of it.

Golfing!

One of the things I noticed once I got pregnant is that for whatever reason my golf game got better. Some people would joke and say it was because there was more weight behind it but it could be because my center of gravity changed..... Who knows but it has been fun!! Here is a picture of me on the golf cart from a few days ago at the Bountiful Ridge Golf course. It was a beautiful evening and the deer are so awesome! They aren't afraid of you or the golf balls around them. I had a lot of fun with Will, James, and their friends Steve, Chris and Will. Thanks for taking me along guys!!

Beginnings

Last Saturday Will and I went and bought a crib and changing table. The crib was the easy thing to put together..... The changing table, not so much. By 10:00 PM saturday night we quit but as you can see it is all completed now. We don't have any bedding put on the crib yet but you get the idea.
