Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

One day when James and Tara were visiting it had snowed. Jen and Drew let us use one of their little snow suites for Colton but we hadn't taken him out yet. James and Tara were more than happy to get him all dressed up and ready to go out in the snow!

I'm ready to go!

He has a very intense stare. What is this stuff?

I think he likes it....

Ok, he's done.

Hooray for snow!

Oh Christmas Tree Oh Christmas Tree...

We bought a real Christmas tree this year to have at the new house. We decorated on Sunday together. Colton wasn't too interested until we let him hold an ornament but he didn't get the part about putting it on the tree he just wanted to hold onto it. Here he is decorating it with Daddy.

And here is the finished tree.

I love real Christmas trees!

Oh my Stairs!!!

It is official..... We have a stair climber and he is so very proud of himself... I won't lie it was a little terrifying the first time I turned around to see what he was doing and he was three stairs up. I didn't want to scare him and make him fall so I had to catch myself and not scream....He is a very funny boy. When he decides he wants to do something and he is ready he just takes off. He never really climbed a stair until he climbed all of them. When he gets to the top, he smiles, claps and looks to see if anyone is watching....so very proud of himself! And here is the cute evidence!

Now that he can climb the stairs it means all the more things he can get into. For the most part he is very good. He really likes to climb the stairs to his room and he will just stay up there and play with his toys and pull all of diapers out of the changing table. So cute!

October Happenings

Well another month has come and gone and I can hardly believe it! We had a very busy month with a lot of fun times! Colton decided he preferred his cereal out of his hair rather than off his tray.
We stayed with Mom and Dad while we were waiting for the Taylorsville house to close. Colton loved having more dogs to play with and having Grandma so close!

Colton finally decided it was time to start crawling, only one week before his first birthday. He decided Grandmas cuboards were way too interesting to just sit there and stare at them. As you can see he is off to the kitchen!

October is a month full of birthdays. We started by celebrating with Cousin Gavin and Cousin Jacob. What fun it is to have family get togethers. We all like to see the boys grow and start playing with eachother. In this picture we have the 3 youngest boys posing together. Jacob, the littlest of the 3 is the oldest at 1 year old, followed by Colton who would be turing 1 in two weeks and the closely followed by Daxton who is 4 1/2 months. These boys will sure have fun when they start running amuck.

Next we celebrated Colton's first birthday! Hooray for 1 year! He had fun seeing all of his cousins again and being able to open presents although he didn't really like to tear the paper off of the presents. We made him his own personal cupcake cake. He started just eating the frosting and then decided to really dig in. Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us!

Mom's birthday was on October 27th, a tuesday I had off work so Colton and I took her some Panda for lunch at her work and brought her the birthday present we bought too. It was a good time. We celebrated her birthday with the family on friday night at the Halloween party she had at her house. We carved pumpkins, everyone dressed up in great costumes, ate good soup and bread bowls then sang happy birthday and ate cake. Jenny set up some fun games for the kids to play. I think they really liked the donut game, even the big kids like Kelly and Carl and Alan. Thanks for a great party everyone! Will and I were playing double duty that day as we moved into the new Taylorsville house that day also. Sorry no pictures yet, it isn't clean enough for pictures..... Too many boxes of stuff to still go through and decide what I really need and where to put it...... And all that was October.....

Mustache Monday???

Will's work buddies decided they were going to grow out their mustaches and have a mustache monday. I told him it was a bad idea but he didn't listen to me. Here is the evidence that this was a bad idea! He thinks I'm jealous...... I think not.

In other news, we have moved out of our Bounitful house and are staying with Mom and Dad until we move into a house in Taylorsville. Colton loves having his Grandma around so much to snuggle with, be sung too, and play with.

Colton's First Haircut

We decided it was time to cut Colton's hair. His hair is fine but it was getting long and starting to hang in his eyes and he would always get food in it when he would eat.

Here are the before pictures.

the during pictures

and the after pictures. He doesn't look quite like my little baby anymore.

July was a blur!

Forgive me as this will be a long post! July has gone by far too quickly. It all started with the 4th of July. We had Will's nephews JR, Tyler and Bryce while Jen and Drew were in the Ukraine with Masha and Nastia. We had a BBQ at my parents house followed by a water fight and then fireworks. JR and Tyler were so excited for the water balloons to be done so they could start the water fight. Here they are huddled around Carl, my brother, while he filled up the water balloons.

.

There was a kitty pool for the real little ones so we decided to see if Colton liked the water. As you can see he did not like the water. After that if anyone even got close to him with a water gun or balloon he would start screaming. He has since recovered from his fear of water and actually enjoys it a lot.

Once darkness finally came it was time to start the fire works.
Here are some pictures of the nephews and Colton enjoying his first sparkler.

Colton seemed to like the fireworks and didn't mind when they were loud.

This is Will playing pyro, but with Mr. OSHA around, aka my Dad, safety is a big priority so he had the face sheild on. We couldn't find anymore protective eyewear and that was all that was left.

Our next adventure was a hike up to Elephant Rock. Colton enjoyed being outside and liked to watch the trees pass overhead. It is a nice hike but I would suggest starting it earlier than we did as it was REALLY dark by the time we got down. Thankfully Colton fell asleep on the way down and wasn't screaming. He was such a good baby!

My 25th birthday happened on July 9th. No, I don't feel any older even if I am a quarter of a century old now. My friends Linda and Valerie took me to lunch at L&L BBQ, then Valerie took me to get a pedicure. Thanks girls for the fun day! Will and I went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Their rolls are amazingly good! Then we went and saw the new Transformers movie. We saw the first one 2 years ago on my birthday so it was kind of tradition to see it on my birthday. The following day I got my hair cut and colored as my birthday present from Will. Thanks honey!

Next we prepared for James and Tara's wedding. Here is Colton in his wedding attire. He is so handsome!

James and Tara were married in Portland so we loaded the baby and the dogs into the truck and drove! It was a long drive but driving at night made it a little easier because Colton slept most of the time. July 17th was there wedding day! Congrats you guys! Here are some pictures from the happy day.

While we were there we were able to hang out with Will's brother Scott, his wife Alisha and their little girl Ada. It was so good to see them and I can't wait until they move closer! Only a 6-8 hour drive away! We went to the zoo on Monday morning before we took off. Colton and Ada had fun seeing all the animals and we got there before most of the crowds and the hot sun. It was great fun!

That is a Polar Bears nose. The bear was just swimming laps back and forth in front of the glass and Will caught this awesome picture.

After we returned home the rest of the month just seemed to fly by. Jen flew back with Nastia from the Ukraine on the 23rd. Welcome Nastia to the family! We are so glad you are finally here!

The 24th came and went. We didn't do any fireworks since I had to work the night shift, but we did go swimming with Colton before I headed in. You can see that he is ok in the water now. He has fun slashing and is ok with being splashed.

And that's all! Phew!
