Easter 2011

Holidays just get to be more and more fun when you have kids that are a little older! We of course colored eggs, that is a must for Easter.

Then Easter morning Colton got to hunt down all of his eggs that the Easter Bunny had brought him and finally his Easter Basket! He wasn't quite sure what to think when he first woke up and saw all the eggs in the hallway he wanted to open each egg that he picked up... this was going to take a while but he soon caught on that there were a lot of eggs and he could go through them later.

Will made blue colored pancakes for breakfast and then we enjoyed a good church meeting!

After church we headed to my mom's house for the kids Easter celebration at grandmas. She had games like tossing bean eggs through the flowers and other crafts, then there was the egg hunt out in the back yard! Kids everywhere! It was a little chilly but for a pregnant women it felt good.

Happenings in March 2011

We put Will's truck up for sale :( but we were able to get rid of a HUGE car payment! We loved it but it was just too much. So long lovely truck!

Will got a road bike so we borrowed Jen and Drew's bike trailer so Colton could go for a ride with Daddy. Isn't he cute in that helmet!

Here's a blurry picture of Colton swinging a golf club in front of the new TV. This should have been a premonition... (See April's post.)

I had a craving for Leatherby's Icecream nearly everyday! I sent Will one day and he brought Colton bubble gum ice cream back. He actually didn't like it that much. Won't be buying that again.

Strike a pose!

Happenings in February 2011

Happy 31st Birthday to my wonderful husband and great dad, Will on February 6th! We had a dinner and cake and ice cream with friends and family to celebrate.

Valentines Day came and went. Will brought me this beautiful Tulip bouquet and we had a nice quiet dinner at home.

On the the 18th I had another doctors appointment. I have Will come to the second doctors appointment so the doctor will do another ultrasound. He likes to show Dad the baby. Here's the baby at 13 weeks. We still had 6 weeks before we would find out what it was. The date would be set at my next appointment in March.

We also went to the RV show just to get out of the house. There is a lot to see! But this was Colton's favorite part of it all.

His funny quote for the month. He had learned to say apples so every piece of fruit was an apple but with this fruit it was also a ball so these were called apple balls (grapes). He makes me laugh!

Happenings in January 2011

Not too much happened this month. One lovely surprise that we did get was on New Years Day. I had not been feeling well for several days/weeks and was really tired so I took Will to the store for something completely different that I can't even remember but happened to go by the pharmacy and hey they have pregnancy tests we should pick one up. Well, with two pink lines that can only mean one thing... Yep, we found out we were pregnant on New Years Day! Wahoo! What a fun way to start out a year. It also explained my earlier December ER visit as that was likely what was causing my problems but didn't show up yet on any of the tests. A few days later we went to a party for the National Championship game in which Oregon was playing. They didn't win but it was nice to get together with friends as that just doesn't happen often enough. Colton had moved to a big boy bed and I think he was enjoying it even if I wasn't with him getting himself out of bed in the middle of the night. Thankfully that didn't last too long.

I had my first OB visit on January 19th. It's great to have a doctor that does an ultrasound on the first visit. That way you can see the little peanut and hear their heart!

Now I just had weeks of morning sickness and migraines ahead of me! Yeah!

Christmas 2010

Christmas 2010 was spent celebrating with the Cotners. We of course visited Temple square to see the lights. We went with the Benson's and Will's Parents. It was cold but beautiful.

Colton and Masha

Will's parents were here and were able to spend Christmas morning with us. We read the story of Christ's birth from the Bible before opening presents to help us remember what Christmas is all about. After, we opened presents. Christmas becomes a lot more fun when you have a kid. They get so excited about things. I got a surprise gift after all the presents were open. A Kindle. It's great and I love it! We all had a good time opening presents with Colton's help on just about all of them and then just enjoyed watching Colton play with his. We got him a dump truck and a set of megablocks, some books and he got some hot wheels. He thought it was great to dump his megablocks out of his truck then build towers and knock them over.

Opening his dump truck

Trying to open the magablocks. Holding it upside down didn't work so well!

Thanksgiving at Disneyland

Thanksgiving was great this year! We were able to spend it with my whole family, all 28 of us, at the happiest place on earth... DISNEYLAND! The trip down there was an adventure but what's a vacation with out some of that. My mom and dad drove down with us in our car. We were going to spend in the night in Mesquite and then drive the rest of the way on Monday. In Beaver Canyon it began to snow and then... two semi's were in an accident. 4 HOURS later we were finally moving again, so a trip that should have taken 5 hours took about 10. At least we had plenty of gas so the cars could stay warm and then of course we had movies and food to eat. We arrived safely to Disneyland on Monday afternoon. Our tickets weren't good until Tuesday so we rested and got ready for the next day. The weather was nice, a little chilly the first two days but not bad. The park was crazy busy so the lines were long but we had good company. We road the Jungle Cruise, which Colton was not sure of, then Small World which was done up for the Holidays, so cute! We wondered the park and got fast passes to different things at different times so we could trade off kids. I think Colton was is shock most of the first two days just because there was so much going on! It was funny to watch! Thanksgiving Day thankfully was not as busy and it was warmer than the previous days. I think I road California Screamin 4 times that day. What a fun roller coaster. P.S. it works great when you work the fast passes and parent passes together for anyone going with kids... We had dinner at the Hotel catered by Albertsons. It was really a good meal followed with some more playing at Disneyland. We were able to get a full family photo, which I don't have a copy of yet but if you want to see it visit my mom and dad's blog. We are a good looking family. This is one of the best vacations I have had and I was so grateful to be able to spend it with all of my family! I love them all so very much! Here are a few pictures to enjoy. There are a lot of them so keep scrolling :)

A great picture of my mom and dad on Small World

Colton was not so sure about this Bug' Life ride!

Colton loved the Pixar parade especially the Toy Story Part
