July was a blur!

Forgive me as this will be a long post! July has gone by far too quickly. It all started with the 4th of July. We had Will's nephews JR, Tyler and Bryce while Jen and Drew were in the Ukraine with Masha and Nastia. We had a BBQ at my parents house followed by a water fight and then fireworks. JR and Tyler were so excited for the water balloons to be done so they could start the water fight. Here they are huddled around Carl, my brother, while he filled up the water balloons.

.

There was a kitty pool for the real little ones so we decided to see if Colton liked the water. As you can see he did not like the water. After that if anyone even got close to him with a water gun or balloon he would start screaming. He has since recovered from his fear of water and actually enjoys it a lot.

Once darkness finally came it was time to start the fire works.
Here are some pictures of the nephews and Colton enjoying his first sparkler.

Colton seemed to like the fireworks and didn't mind when they were loud.

This is Will playing pyro, but with Mr. OSHA around, aka my Dad, safety is a big priority so he had the face sheild on. We couldn't find anymore protective eyewear and that was all that was left.

Our next adventure was a hike up to Elephant Rock. Colton enjoyed being outside and liked to watch the trees pass overhead. It is a nice hike but I would suggest starting it earlier than we did as it was REALLY dark by the time we got down. Thankfully Colton fell asleep on the way down and wasn't screaming. He was such a good baby!

My 25th birthday happened on July 9th. No, I don't feel any older even if I am a quarter of a century old now. My friends Linda and Valerie took me to lunch at L&L BBQ, then Valerie took me to get a pedicure. Thanks girls for the fun day! Will and I went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse. Their rolls are amazingly good! Then we went and saw the new Transformers movie. We saw the first one 2 years ago on my birthday so it was kind of tradition to see it on my birthday. The following day I got my hair cut and colored as my birthday present from Will. Thanks honey!

Next we prepared for James and Tara's wedding. Here is Colton in his wedding attire. He is so handsome!

James and Tara were married in Portland so we loaded the baby and the dogs into the truck and drove! It was a long drive but driving at night made it a little easier because Colton slept most of the time. July 17th was there wedding day! Congrats you guys! Here are some pictures from the happy day.

While we were there we were able to hang out with Will's brother Scott, his wife Alisha and their little girl Ada. It was so good to see them and I can't wait until they move closer! Only a 6-8 hour drive away! We went to the zoo on Monday morning before we took off. Colton and Ada had fun seeing all the animals and we got there before most of the crowds and the hot sun. It was great fun!

That is a Polar Bears nose. The bear was just swimming laps back and forth in front of the glass and Will caught this awesome picture.

After we returned home the rest of the month just seemed to fly by. Jen flew back with Nastia from the Ukraine on the 23rd. Welcome Nastia to the family! We are so glad you are finally here!

The 24th came and went. We didn't do any fireworks since I had to work the night shift, but we did go swimming with Colton before I headed in. You can see that he is ok in the water now. He has fun slashing and is ok with being splashed.

And that's all! Phew!

Teething.... I could do without it!

Colton has been teething for about 2 weeks, his teeth have not broken through and he has a hard time sleeping at night. I am so tired!! During the day he isn't too bad but in the evening and at night he is very grumpy!!! I hope the two teeth break through soon so we can move on!

I can't really complain too much because he is still pretty happy and I guess the teething isn't as bad as I thought it would be.

On a happier note Colton is now sitting all by himself and he likes to play on the floor with his toys and the dogs. He really likes the dogs coming close enough for him to try and grab. Sobe mostly ignores him but Mya will let him pull her hair and grab her face. I haven't been able to get a picture of him grabbing and snuggling Mya's face.

Colton is talking to Sobe in this video but she is ignoring him. Perhaps talking isn't the right word either he is more making screeching noises that make him sound like a seagull!

Happy Trucker Baby!

Good times...

So, I have not posted in a while, no real excuses just haven't. We have had some fun times this last month and here are some pictures from our various activities.

We went fishing at the Farmington Pond and at Jordanelle Resevoir. We didn't have any luck at the pond but James did catch a big fish at Jordanelle.

James thinks he's funny! This was at the pond. It didn't smell very good. There were a lot of geese and ducks but Colton thought they were fun to watch.

It was a little cold at Jordanelle but he didn't seem to mind. He really wanted to hold the fishing poll.

Jimmy's fish.

Will is trying to get him started early....

On Memorial Day we had the usual barbeque at my Mom's house. Colton got to see his older cousin Jacob. Jacob was born early that is why he is smaller but older. They are cute boys!

His mohawk is getting a little out of control! We don't do it that way much anymore.

He loves graham crackers!!

And this is what happens when you 'motor boat' into your food. It was so funny after he did that he looked at me like 'Why'd you do that, mom?'

He has gotten creative in the places and positions he falls asleep as seen in the following few pictures.

I'll lay him in his bed while I get things ready for him to go to bed and this is what happens. Everything gets quite and I find him sound asleep....

Hugging his teddy bear leg.

Easter and Mother's Day Holidays

Well, my sister Amy took some pictures of Colton for us on Easter since we forgot our camera. Here he is on his first Easter Egg Hunt. He's not sure what he is doing but he grabbed onto the bright colored egg.

Since Easter Sunday was such a nice day and my Mom's lawn was looking so nice and green I decided to see what Colton would think of it..... Well you can judge from the photo and video he was a little concerned about this whole grass thing. It was just to funny to watch him get so worried when we would touch his feet to the grass.

This was my first Mother's Day and it was wonderful. Will made me breakfast in bed, although I was already up with the Colton and didn't eat it in bed. It was delicious pancakes and bacon with eggs on the side. For my Mother's Day gift he got me a new ring. I love it!! It is blue saphires for a boy but it is also our anniversary month stone. Horray for 5 years! I'm so lucky to have a wonderful husband and a great baby boy! After church we went to my Mom's house and had a wonderful dinner and enjoyed time with the family. We also found out that my sister is going to be a mom again!! YEAH! That means I will have at least one new little nephew and two more little ones (not sure yet about them) by the end of the year! Wow, my family is growing so fast!

Today we finally bought a highchair. Colton was so excited, he just stared at the tray for a few minutes. Then we gave him some Cheerios and he pushed them around. He doesn't quite have the grabbing and putting them in his mouth down yet, but he will get there.

SIX Months... Poor Sick Baby... Spring Visit

Colton is now SIX months old. I can hardly believe that six months ago our lives changed completely and our family grew. We love having him with us and he is such a joy! I love his beautiful blue eyes and his happy toothless grin (still no teeth). He hasn't decided that he wants to sit yet, but he is getting very close to sitting by himself!! He also, has decided that he just doesn't want to roll from his back to his stomach. While in his crib he wiggles around enough that I guess he figures that he doesn't need to roll over to get around. He will still roll from his tummy to his back though. He'll do anything to get off his tummy. To celebrate this wonderful occasion of six months we got a cake and had it decorated. Colton couldn't enjoy any of it but you can see that he sure wanted to!!

Poor Colton has been sick since last Sunday. It all started with a cute little cough, that he would dramatize, but soon turned into a running nose, fever, and an even worse cough! Yesterday he actually started acting like himself again but still has a terrible cough. Here is a picture of him on the day I think he felt the worst. He was so stuffed up and would get so upset every time he coughed. It's so hard when they are sick and there is nothing you can do for them but try to make them comfortable.

My sister Amy and her daughter Shelby were visiting this week. It was so good to see them and to see how Shebly has grown since last year! Colton sure loved his cousin Shelby and he very much enjoyed having his Aunt Amy around to snuggle him while he was sick.
